As a professional image-maker and model, Saturne has been facilitating many collective photo-shootings where participants are invited to take turns photographing each other -alternatively as photographer and subject. Tackling both technical and ethical aspects of portrait photography, Saturne will share their personal research and reflections on (self-)representation. In this masterclass, Saturne challenges the idea of a monolithic gaze and opens up a space to learn how to build a more collaborative approach of portrait photography based on trust, communication and vulnerability.

Saturne (b. 1994 in Paris; lives and works in Switzerland) is an artist, writer, model and performer whose practice encompasses context-specific performance, dance, acting, as well as video and photography. Image and (self-) representation is at the core of their work. Saturne graduated from the photography school Gobelins in Paris and holds a Master in Fine Arts from HGK FHNW Basel.
