Me, Myself & I

Fashion photography is often interpreted through the lens of aesthetics and visual codes. The exhibition “Me, Myself & I” builds on this and broadens the perspective: it focuses on internationally successful Swiss models as active participants. As part of photoSCHWEIZ 2026, the project invites the models to select the image from their careers that is most meaningful to them personally—a photo that conveys more than just success or staging.

Instead of agencies or editorial teams, the models themselves decide which image most honestly reflects their story. The result is an exhibition about identity, self-perception, and control over one’s own image. On display are not only iconic photographs from the international fashion world, but also the personal memories and emotions associated with them.

"Me, Myself & I" offers an intimate glimpse into fashion photography, looking beyond the surface to the people behind the images.

Manuela Frey: “…This image honors not only the form, but also the attitude: clear, gentle, empowered. I stand here—for myself…”
