Sober and focused

Leica Camera Switzerland presents Oliver Baer’s latest exhibition, which traces the complex interplay between artistic production, visibility, and the realities of life with alcohol addiction. At the center of the exhibition is the “Rausch-Kubus” (Intoxication Cube), an immersive space featuring photographs and video works created during Baer’s years of addiction, which enter into a dialogue here with his current, sober body of work.

The project is curated by Jeffrey Spörri, Baer’s former assistant, and Silvan Dietrich, former director of the Leica Academy Switzerland. The exhibition is supported by Blue Cross Switzerland and Blue Cross Zurich, whose commitment underscores the goal of promoting open dialogue and destigmatizing addiction.

The opening also marks the publication of Baer’s autobiographical book *Belichtet & Benebelt* (ISBN 978-3-033-11584-2), which will be presented on February 6, 2026, at photoSCHWEIZ 26.
