Presentation

Participation in photoSCHWEIZ means a financial and time investment for you. It is therefore important that you benefit as much as possible from your participation. However, this requires a little preparation and a few tips to ensure that you have the best possible exhibition experience.

PRINTS

As we present the pictures at photoSCHWEIZ on cubes, the lighting is set from above. It is therefore anything but ideal if you print on glossy paper or use frames with glass. We therefore recommend that you print on high-quality matt paper. FineArt paper with a light structure will enhance your pictures even more.
Do not use glass. You can still get reflections even with non-reflective glass. Dark subjects in particular should always be printed in matt so that all the nuances and subtle shades come to the fore.

PRESENT PRINTS ON KUBUS

What is the best way to present your pictures on the cube? Ideally, 3-4 pictures should be placed on a cube. If you have too many pictures, edit them again and really reduce them to the best selection. A large picture radiates calm and captures the viewer much more than many small pictures.

Framed pictures have the best chances of selling. Don't use frames that are too cheap. Framing is a craft and a professional picture frame can get a lot out of it (passe-partout, correct frame width, placement of the picture in the frame, etc.). Passepartouts are very elegant. If you can't afford the money for framing, you can also buy a removable frame and frame the pictures yourself.

Other alternatives:

  • Canvas pictures with stretcher and shadow gap frames

  • Mounting on Alu Dibond

  • Mounting on Forex

  • Printen on photo cardboard

No Go's

  • We would advise you not to simply place your prints on the cubes without mounting or framing them, or to pin them in place.

  • Photocopies are also not very well received, unless the concept demands it.

  • No prints on glossy or semi-matt paper

  • No frames with glass, unless it is high-quality anti-reflective glass. For the exhibition, you could simply remove the glass from the frame.

BE PRESENT IN PERSON AT YOUR CUBE AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE AT THE WERKSCHAU

In our survey of former exhibitors, over 50% stated that they had benefited from the exhibition. This does not always have to be monetary (orders or image sales). Many said that the new relationships they made at photoSCHWEIZ with visitors or other photographers were extremely valuable. It is therefore in your interest to be present in person at your cube as often as possible at the exhibition in order to enter into a dialog with visitors and photographers.
