Special Showcase Vergani X photoSCHWEIZ
On view from January 14, 2026, to February 12, 2026, at Vergani Löwenplatz in Zurich.
We’re presenting this year’s first pop-up exhibition!
Together with Vergani, the historic wine bar on Löwenplatz, we are continuing our partnership and opening the first pop-up exhibition of the year in the heart of Zurich, featuring Zurich-based artist Ona Sadkowsky. Known for her colorful and vibrant paintings and sculptures, the exhibition offers an energetic preview of the upcoming edition. Sadkowsky is showcasing her photographic works for the first time, a special highlight for all visitors.
The temporary exhibition space combines wine and art to create a place for connection, tranquility, and mindful appreciation—right in the heart of everyday urban life.
The interplay of photography, space, atmosphere, and wine creates a moment of reflection—a dialogue between enjoyment and contemplation.

The pop-up exhibition features works by Ona Sadkowsky that are being shown for the first time. In these works, she explores questions of identity, presence, and representation, and brings to light the conditions of perception and the attribution of meaning. Through formal reduction, fragmentation, and deliberate openness, she creates visual spaces that do not impose fixed interpretations but rather invite active engagement. The photographs open up a focused space for reflection in which meaning emerges through the act of viewing.

Ona Sadkowsky
Ona Sadkowsky (born January 17, 1992, in Zurich) works at the intersection of photography, painting, performance, and conceptual image-making. Her practice is characterized by precision, minimalism, and structural clarity, and is situated within a variety of exhibition contexts.
In her photographic work, Sadkowsky explores questions of identity, presence, and representation. She examines how images are interpreted and under what conditions meaning emerges, shifts, or is deliberately left open. Photography functions here not as a representational medium, but as an analytical tool and a space for reflection.
Through fragmentation, blurring, superimposition, and formal reduction, she reveals the structural conditions of perception. Symbolism, metaphorical devices, and, on occasion, irony are employed strategically without appearing illustrative.
This approach also shapes her work as a painter. Sadkowsky’s works reveal complex visual structures that require conscious engagement and give rise to meaning through the viewer’s own process of perception.
Vergani
The traditional Vergani company, family-owned for over 130 years and one of the leading Swiss direct importers of Italian wines and grappas, is now presenting itself at photoSCHWEIZ in a unique pop-up exhibition. With their good taste and La Dolce Vita expertise, we are looking forward to this new joint venture with Vergani. Pure indulgence, good company and a flair for the finer things in life. That is the essence of this collaboration.
