The next exhibition is coming up: photoSCHWEIZ 27 will take place from February 5 to 9, 2027 . But before then, we’d like to share some groundbreaking news with you—we’re excited to welcome a new artistic director and a new executive team!
New Leadership Team for photoSCHWEIZ
Effective immediately, Oliver Nanzig and Sven Germann will lead the artistic direction and serve on the curatorial board. As experienced photographers and deep connoisseurs of the scene, both bring an excellent sense of visual trends, aesthetics, and profound visual languages. With their shared passion for the medium of photography, they will set creative and exciting new directions.
Oliver Nanzig: Co-Director and Curator
Sven Germann: Co-Director and Curator
Our co-director and curator, Oliver Nanzig, says:
"photoSCHWEIZ 2027 is set to once again become a curated platform for high-quality photography that showcases craftsmanship, quality, and diversity—and thereby revive the appreciation for the craft of photography that is increasingly being lost in the age of social media. I am pursuing this vision together with Sven Germann as artistic directors."
Our co-director and curator, Sven Germann, adds:
"For me, photography truly comes to life when it is printed, exhibited, and viewed together. It is precisely this moment of genuine encounter that I want to bring back to the forefront with photoSCHWEIZ."
Melanie Schweizer-Toman has taken over as the new general manager. She has been working successfully in the events industry for over 20 years. She is passionate about creating unforgettable experiences in the arts and culture sector and is eagerly looking forward to the new photoSCHWEIZ project.
An Exclusive Innovation
A very special highlight awaits us at the upcoming edition: For the first time, we’re planning an international country focus at photoSCHWEIZ! The artistic direction and much of the content will revolve entirely around this fascinating country. Despite this focus, photoSCHWEIZ remains true to its philosophy: As we do every year, we’re accepting photos on all topics and in all genres through our call for submissions!
