Curatorial team


The curation team is made up of award-winning creative director and advertising agency owner Chris Burkhardaward-winning photographer and film director Aurélia Marine, new media curator, juror and entrepreneur Lidia Panio and - last but not least - our long-standing curator Daniel Bolliger. With their diverse professional and artistic CVs, they combine the most diverse aspects of contemporary photography and bring fresh perspectives and a trained eye for the essentials.

This year's challenge is particularly exciting as it takes place in our new venue, the renowned Kongresshaus Zurich. Your guidance will be crucial to ensure that each presentation not only meets the high standards of the exhibition, but also fully utilizes the potential of this iconic space.

Chris Burkhard

Chris Burkhard 

Chris Burkhard has worked for major Swiss brands in the top agencies of the 90s and 2000s. She founded Burkhard Creative over 20 years ago, where she looks after a broad client portfolio. Photography is central to her work, inspired by creative exchanges with many photographers.

Chris follows her motto: sometimes poetry, sometimes craftsmanship - but always with passion.

@ Daniel Bolliger

Daniel Bolliger

Daniel Bolliger, curator of photoSCHWEIZ for many years, studied photography, image processing and fine arts at the ZHdK and in New York. His work attracted international interest and led to a successful career as a photographer, post-production specialist and creative director in advertising and art. He has worked for renowned brands such as Gucci, Dior and Louis Vuitton and has collaborated with greats such as Steven Meisel and Christy Turlington.

Lidia Panio

Lidia Panio combines digital and traditional photography. Her curatorial style encompasses abstract art, emotional portraits and captivating storytelling. As an expert in visual narratives in social media and generative AI art, she is always on the lookout for innovative artists. At GRAFIKSchweiz, she shaped the digital art landscape and organized conferences that united art and technology. Lidia continues to drive creative projects worldwide.

Aurélia Marine

Aurélia Marine is a successful photographer and film director. Her career began in New York in 2011 when she discovered a camera. Her work is abstract, in black and white, reminiscent of the "film noir" era. Marine has exhibited in Switzerland, London, Tokyo and Los Angeles. She is currently working on the docu-fiction "ANOTHER HUMAN", which deals with our relationship to nature in times of overconsumption. Aurélia continues her tireless exploration of visual storytelling.


As previously announced, the CALL FOR ENTRIES will run until November 30, 2024 and the number of participants is limited to 250. So apply early with your best work from the last 12 months and become part of the largest photography show in Switzerland.
